Ordered a kiwi big breakfast, there were 3 other people dining the wait was lengthy when our food arrived it was barley warmed through, the black pudding was Raw, the bacon and sausages had no colour and were onlyly just cooked, eggs were supposed to be poached but resembled a hard boiled egg. The rosti was also cold. I passed on my concern with the meal there was no apology or offer to recook or rectify the situation the waitress just picked up my plate and walked away never to be seen again. We paid and left and will not be returning. Unfortunate as we used to really love this spot.
World Class Food in a picturesque village.nnAmazing experience: Japanese-Kiwi high fusion cuisine. Attention to details, exquisite taste profiles and locally sourced produce. What not to love? Additionally, the head chef and the owner is a former tutor of Witt and the president of Taranaki Branch of NZ Chefs Association. Love their food and service.
Coffee was hot scalded beyond reason causing burnt taste. Ordered a savoury scone from the cabinet, had to ask where it was 10 minutes later. Waiter was sweet and polite but running around like crazy. Scone came out eventually but it was a date scone. Couldn't be bothered asking for a fix. Butter provided for scone was so cold it couldn't be used. I watched repeated mistakes on orders for the tables around me as well. Fortunately I like date scones and it was very nice. Seems front of house is having a breakdown today.nFootnote: staff were checking later and being really nice to make sure customers happy.nSometimes the gods of chaos just strike.
Great night, had the set meal-delicious with very generous portions. Lovely staff and ambience. Can’t wait to come again for your next set menu!
Second time here for me but my husband popped in 3 times ! when I went away for a mere week. I had the eggs bene with gravalax salmon both times because I couldn't imagine anything could be better but apparently the chicken burger is dynamite too.
