Nick started his work experience as a labourer at the age of 15. Being young and wanting to learn more Nick soon progressed onto operating diggers of various sizes and on various jobs sites, some of these sites included demolition, new build locations including Wellington Hospital foundations and localised Wellington road networks. At the age of 21 Nick became a foreman, this involved management of staff and reporting back to the operations manager. At the same time Nick also wanted to be able to transport machinery to sites so he gained all available truck licences, including R.T.W. In 2012 Nick changed companies and undertook an operations manager position within his family business. During this time Nick learnt management of staff and sites, pricing of job sites, working to deadlines and working within budgets.
