Good friendly service. Great chips, they were nice and crisp on the outside and soft and floury on the inside. The fish was tasty and a nice texture.
We ordered on 28 Nov 2024. Meat Pattie was excellent, appears to have corned beef , potato and onion. Really tasty. Fish was Elephant or Rig, but decently sized pieces, well cooked and really good. Chips were perfectly cooked. This place when we visited is way better than 4-stars, using Akaroas Kaimoana Takeaways as a comparison, this place is cheaper and better quality. Kaimoana somehow earned 4.5 stars ... So leeston takeaways gets an easy 5* , comparatively it's more than 2x better than Kaimoana takeaways. Give this place a try. It was awesome when we did.

I ordered a scoop of chips & one piece of fish. The fish was so dry I only ate one small mouthful and binned the rest of it.
Chips where over cooked or dirty oil needs a change as well as the fish was well over cooked and rubbery gurnard mussel batter was to thick
