Lovely cellar door tasting experience! Carol was so kind to us and fun to chat with! The wines were all good and interesting and refreshing!
Mixed feelings after visiting this cellar door - we were looking forward to this experience and also travelling from really far away! but were quite disappointed at the end. We were given very limited information during the tasting, all our questions were answered in a dry manner, no single smile or any intention to support the conversation. To my big surprise when a bigger group arrived they were welcomed by a smile and were given a much longer explanation to each wine during the tasting. All in all if you are a group of tourists from Europe you will be welcomed, but if you are a couple wanting to take one set of tasting you will be explained clearly that it is too much effort of the personnel for the little price you pay. Hope we will get more luck with remaining wineries on our list!
We visited six wineries in Blenheim and this was by far our favorite! All of the wines were excellent, especially the sauvignon blanc and chardonnay. Nigel conducted the tasting in a such a friendly, personable manner — it didn’t feel scripted like some of the larger vineyards in the area. I definitely recommend including Lawson’s in your Marlborough visit!
We had a really lovely visit and tasting here! Nigel was really knowledgeable and gave great insight into the wines we were tasting, as well as the winemaking process in general. I had only intended to do tastings today, but liked the wines enough that we ended up with two bottles. We highly recommend visiting Lawson's!
We had a lovely afternoon tasting, stopping by on a whim. The wines were superb and Nigel was very welcoming! Would definitely recommend!
Carol and the staff are very sweet and friendly even thought we went there looking for employment. We ended up getting some drinks and have a wonderful amazing experience in this vineyard :
Just arrived in town on a Sunday afternoon and made a short visit to Lawson's as it was located close to my hotel. The host was welcoming, relaxed, and took great pleasure in giving myself and my wife a brief overview of the wines and the history of the winery. We had a very relaxed and informative visit and loved tasting their wines. Well worth visiting if you are vinyard-hopping in the area.
We had an amazing wine tasting. Lovely hosts. Also got a few tips for our trip.
Nigel is an absolute star in the tasting room, he's very knowledgeable and very welcoming; he's a credit to the winery. Tasting is only $5 but free if you purchase one of their great wines. We enjoyed it so much we went 2 days in a row.
Lovely winery!!! Tasting room staff is absolutely delightful! And they pour Reserve wines in their tasting room!
