My name is Nicki Cherrington, Last Chance Equine was originally founded in 2007 as an equine relief and rehab facility in the thermal wonderland of Rotorua, giving relief, rehabilitation and a last chance of life to unwanted horses destined for slaughter. This page was originally set up to share the progress of the horses we took in from relief to re-education to rehome and beyond.

In 2015, I was forced to downsize numbers to almost nil due to relocating to a much smaller property. I have since relocated to the warm shores of Ruawai, a small town near Dargaville in Northland, and unfortunately can only take on needy horses one at a time to rehab and rehome so I have concentrated on providing my equine services to horse owners.

I will still offer the once yearly Pro-Bono Behavioural Problem Solving opportunity to one problematic horse/owner as well as physical assistance/support with local horse rescue/uplift (incl cheap transport).
