We fell across this takeaway shop on a rainy day just passing through Kawerau on a weekend roadie. We ordered corn fritters, wantons and chips and everything was fresh and cooked just perfect. The service was great and they were very helpful and friendly. Would definitely recommend them and go back again when next visiting Kawerau. Keep up the good work
Called by today after hearing some great reviews and wasn't disappointed. Creamed paua and the best fry bread ever! Shame we live so far away otherwise we'd be regulars. Keep up the good work!
We travelled to Kawerau just to say we'd dined at Larry's and we weren't disappointed. Our seafood boil was plentiful, fresh, hot and so so tasty. Larry and his family were a friendly and happy bunch and so too were the other diners - some, like us, who had travelled from other areas. Highly recommend !!
We got the crayfish seafood boil and it was horrible, tasteless like from frozen and the sauce was plain gravy with no garlic or spice..we binned half of it. I strongly would not recommend any whanau buy it as it is definitely not worth the price you pay..
The best fried bread I have every had. Lovely and crispy on outside and soft in the inside. The cream paua is absolutely delicious . I have been twice now with my partner and both times the meals have been yummy and great value. Raw fish is so good too. My partner said the whitebait fritter was delicious too. The prawn crackers and dumplings so tasty . If your near Kawerau or just passing through Larry's takeaways is well worth the drive for a yummy lunch or dinner.
