Landing Cottage luxury B&B

Absolutely loved it here! Location was superb. We got a Freedom of the Lake ticket and just caught the boat up to Ambleside and made our way back down. Room was lovely and clean with a really comfy memory foam mattress. Good TV and drink services and to top it all breakfast, which was lovely with loads of choice.Rooms: 5/5

Second visit this year, with an additional family member who was delighted with her ground floor room with access to garden, Colin warm and welcoming, like the new attractive furniture and sparkling new shower, nothing too much trouble for Colin, clean room, good breakfast. Worth a visit.Rooms: 4/5

Wonderful experience, beautiful room with a comfortable king size bed, super tasty breakfast with the best bacon! Thank you so much to Colin for excellent service and recommendations, the walk along Gummers How was a highlight of our trip, the location is perfect for exploring Lakeside and Windemere. I would love to return here again soon.

Absolutely the best Bed and Breakfast we have stayed at. The owners were very friendly and helpful with where to go and what to see. The breakfast was delicious Colin even cooked our eggs like we like them. Definitely will be booking in again as it was a wonderful 2 day stay.

Colin was very welcoming, nothing was too much trouble. Mum and I had a wonderful few days staying here, visiting Ulverston and getting the boat to Bowness. Ample parking and clean rooms with a good breakfast. Thank you Colin and your wife for a fabulous stay.

Really close to the lake with boat trips and steam train rides out of the area. Lovely place to spend a night or two. We had the downstairs room with a door to the parking. With just a 2 min walk to the lakeside for further onward travel. Breakfast is great, full English and a large selection of cereals to choose from.

The bathroom was not clean, it had a lot of black mould, in the shower, on the shower head itself,  and on pretty much all of the tiles. There were hairs in the sink which were not ours. There were cobwebs and dead flies in the room. We had to clean the bathroom ourselves with antibacterial wipes before we felt comfortable using it. We arrived late after a long journey so had no other option but to stay for 1 night. We had 2 nights booked but did not want to stay for the 2nd night due to the lack of cleanliness and black mould posing a health risk. So we found another hotel to stay at. We politely explained this to the owner, who agreed to refund us for the 2nd night stay. But, since returning home he has now changed his mind and refused our refund which was agreed. So we have been forced to pay for a night in a filthy room which we didn't even stay in. Disgusting. This place is best avoided.

Great place to stay. Colin was brilliant. He attended to every need from arrival, to breakfast duty, to leaving! He even helped watch us out onto the road too which has a slight bend in it so can be difficult to get out but its mainly not a busy road. The rooms were clean, comfortable and warm. They do vegetarian sausages with breakfast so I was happy. Lovely selection of fresh fruit and cereals. We loved our 2night stay and would definitely come back.

Very friendly and helpful owner, nice and clean room, and delicious also generous breakfast. It ticks every box! We stayed only for a night while we were on the way from Windermere to Buttermere. It was a perfect one night staying. Very close to Gummer's How where you can see a beautiful view of Windermere.
