Best little museum I’ve been to. Far better than some bigger museums. It was very revealing on how medical was conducted back in history and how they churned butter etc. there was so many elements to the museum which was eye opening.nI would recommend viewing the museum when in town it’s about $14 for adult or $10 as a student.nIt is 2 stories with wheelchair access to the bottom - user friendly!
We arrived fairly early and it was almost empty. The staff were helpful and let us leave our pram behind their counter. It’s a beautiful museum with quite interesting areas to explore. If you’re ever in Arrowtown definitely check it out for yourself.
nnI had a fantastic experience visiting the Lakes District Museum & Gallery in Arrowtown. The museum is a great place to learn about the local history, especially the fascinating gold rush era and the lives of the early settlers. The exhibits are engaging and informative, with a mix of historical artifacts and interactive displays.nnThe highlight of my visit was the gold panning experience, which I did with the help of Zack, one of the staff members. Zack was incredibly knowledgeable and made the whole experience fun and memorable. He guided me through the process of panning for gold and shared interesting stories about Arrowtown’s mining history.nnI highly recommend this museum to anyone visiting Arrowtown – it’s a great way to dive into the town’s history and try something unique like gold panning. Thank you, Zack, for making it such a memorable experience!
The smallest mesuem I ever see but it was so amazing. The exhibition so amazing. There are lots of activities kinds of games to do in the museum.nnI really enjoy the story of chinese sattlement, gold mining, brewing. That's amazing. Really like how they tell story of arrowtown.
Lovely and friendly museum, even if I didn’t pay for the entrance, it was still nice to visit!
