A very peaceful and serene second-largest lake in New Zealand. It is recommended to take a stop to enjoy the atmosphere of the calm lake.
Beautiful and tranquil lake. It looks pristine and so blue!
Lake Te Anau would be high up on my list of favorite places in New Zealand. My only issue is that due to its size it is difficult to get to see each and every one of the valleys, shores, arms and beaches that make up this lake. Much more aesthetically superior to Wakatipu, Lake Te Anau gets top votes from me.
One of the purest waters you could find. The water is crystal clear and you can see right through the rocks. The best experience out here had been walking barefoot on the little pebbles of the lake.
You can enjoy the lake view around Te Anau downtown, and fiords view when taking lake cruise in the second largest lakes in New Zealand. Take a walk along the lakeside or enjoy the lake cruise included glowworm tour. It's amazing to spend an afternoon/morning here.
The lakeside walk is just stunning. Start at the matina/boat club end and wander the shoreline on the dedicated cycle /walking trail
No idea why everyone goes to Queenstown when this lake is as beautiful, serene, and relaxing. You get the views without the crowd : lakeside activities include helicopter and seaplane rides, pedal boats, cruises to glow worm caves and Milford sound.
One of the prettiest places in the south island. Make sure to book 2 nights so you can do the bus & ferry day trip to Milford sounds without rushing.
Definitely a great place to go for a stroll or a jog or just a photo. Great place to see sunrise and sunset too! Plenty of parking spaces near the lake.
