NAU MAI, HAERE MAI
The Lake Taupō Forest Trust was established by Māori Land Court in 1968 to represent the interests of the owners of 68 separate Māori land titles on the eastern shores of Lake Taupō. The Trust now acts on behalf of more than 13,000 beneficial owners who retain their shares in the lands.
The land blocks were originally leased to the Crown and planted in forest, with the stumpage shared between the Crown and the Trust at harvest.
The Trust provides a range of grants and benefits to the owners and beneficiaries of the lands and more information can be found on our webpage: www.ltft.co.nz
