Had an after hour ghost tour tonight. The Lake House Arts Centre is a small place with a lot of fine arts and an interesting history. Our tour guide was humorous and knew the place well. Snacks and beverages/drinks were provided, which was great. We only had 2 hours for the tour and the house was full of guests, which made me feel short and crowded. So therefore I would suggest that future tours would last longer and less than 10 guests shall be invited for one single tour. I was glad to hear the host teamed up with Paranormal NZ to conduct paranormal investigations. I am a regular guest to Paranormal NZ, who sometimes create public events. Their events are long and limited to few participants, which make their events more fun and engaging. So yeah less people, more time would be better. I took some pics before l left, and if you see sth unusual, let the host know.
Superbly restored historic building in park-like grounds. Lovely cafe & arts display too!
Wonderful caring community Gallery with a huge range of Artists showcasing all different genres of work.
A gorgeous community gallery with beautiful small garden.
The staff here in the cafe are great, friendly, helpful and efficient. Food is good quality and the seating area is open and comfortable. Nice view over the garden and sportsfield. Often display the work of local artists for sale.
This place is amazing, the customer service is great. I came and ordered a shawarma and it was the best. I honestly recommend coming to this place it’s so amazing
Beautiful place in and out. Love how they display their art around the building. They have nice gardens and a cafe to enjoy the outdoor area. Have friends with kids going there for art classes and they all say great things about the Lake House,so considering it for my own kids. Just tried out their café and 1they have great coffee, and 2the location is great and you can enjoy your meal on the outside tables by the sculptures and the garden.
Lake House Arts Centre is a positive, friendly and creative space. I have been many times over the years to events, workshops and exhibitions there and have always found the historic building to be an inviting and exciting hub for creatives.
Attended opening exhibition of art by Mark Whippy. Great arts space, a very creative atmosphere, supportive of emerging artists. Blessing in te reo Maori appreciated. A lovely experience on a cold rain swept Sunday after noon. Thanks to the supporters of this arts space. Arohanui.
Ghost tour and experience, well worth it, knowledgeable host and a building full of history
