Came here during fall, had some nice autumn colours too. Would expect it to be more pretty during spring as rhododendrons would flower then. Has a good view of the port from the viewing point.
a beautiful spot to look over the port! perhaps best enjoyed late november/ early december, as most rhododendrons had already lost their blossoms by the time we were there in mid december.

Great nature trails, penguins, etc. Ride the 8 wheel ATV's. You might get muddy
A unique public garden area in a volcanic stone quarry with excellent views and nice seating areas. We wish the plants were labeled and the Lions' predilection for using it as a memorial for their deceased members is a little off-putting, but it is still worth a look. Look out for wasp nests, and be careful at night- we have noticed a few dodgy lurkers while walking pm.
