About

Kristin is a leading independent, coeducational school of approximately 1600 students from Kindergarten through to Year 13, located in Albany, Auckland.

Story

Kristin is an independent co-educational school of approximately 1600 students and is located in Albany, Auckland. Catering to students from Kindergarten to Year 13, Kristin School was founded in 1973 by a small group of North Shore parents and is owned by the Kristin School Charitable Trust. The school is non-denominational and welcomes students from all cultures and backgrounds.

Kristin is structured as three schools within one whole school. The Junior, Middle and Senior Schools are all located on the same campus. Each school follows the philosophy of Kristin while creating their own distinctive character relative to the age group of the students. The differences between how each school functions have a positive impact on the students. As a child moves through the schools they encounter different ways of working, allowing them to consider the world, themselves and their peers in a variety of ways. This encourages the students to be inquisitive, show initiative and cope well with change.

Providing a dual qualification pathway, Kristin School was the first school in New Zealand to introduce the International Baccalaureate Diploma and has continued to show innovation by introducing the IB Primary and Middle Years Programmes in the Junior and Middle schools. The national curriculum is delivered alongside the International Baccalaureate programmes at all levels until students in the Senior School can elect to complete either the IB Diploma or NCEA standards in Year 12 and 13. Kristin's proud record of success as a leading IB school has allowed students to gain entry to some of the world's most prestigious universities. Kristin is committed to developing an international perspective and a sense of global awareness.

Absolutely worthless school for 20k+ a year. Teachers are incompetent and priotise school uniform instead of supporting students and providing an education. Would never sets my child here again.
A really good school! The way the teach you is outstanding and you always reach your goals. Kristin grants you so many adventurous and academic opportunities to find out new things and encourage team spirit! Kristin has extremely friendly students and you are always making new friends everyday. Kristin always puts an interesting twist on learning and there for making learning fun and helping everyone no matter what your talents are.
get a pool, lower tuck shop price and u got a perfect school
Emotional and mental aspects of student health is heavily neglected by the school in terms of the majority of its staff. Students receive little to no support unless their actions are directly beneficial for the school and its image. The values in the arts of individuality and creative freedoms are sacrificed for school prestige and "academic" excellence instead. Don't waste your money here, especially if you care for your child's overall development and growth.
Honestly, a bit overpriced for 20 k a year and not much to do after school in the area. Over-emphasis on extra curricular to the point they make random stuff up so kids feel good about themselves but later in life realise it doesn't actually mean anything. Productions cost too much money and way too scripted.Food is not high quality and really overpriced. Nice grass and trees though you can legit wag class and hide in the bush.
Expect better service for the price
Quite Expensive, Been here all my life, lovely sense of community, awesome staff and teachers most of them watch out for a couple lmao great performing arts courses and productions.
The best thing my parents ever did for me other than loving me was sending me to Kristin. I absolutely loved my time here and would love to send my children here one day!
The best school I ever went to. Great learning and lovely teachers who helped me gain confidence. Miss Wysocki was my principal then.
