Stopped in for a bite to eat on the way home from Matarangi. This is a dog friendly pub. The staff were very friendly, the food is good old pub grub.

A run down old hotelnIf you’re happy with a gravel car park full of pot holes then just realise that its not going to get any better going insidenOnce you’ve get inside you can select your own ripped seat to sit on or head out to the garden areanSomebody looked after it a while agonVery limited menu with no healthy optionsnYou can either have fries/fish and chips or burgersnThe food was nicely presented and of good quality and plenty of itnThe staff definitely deserve a pat on the back for keeping the place clean and tidynAnd their level of attention was awesomenI’m guessing this place used to rock back in its daynBut that was a while ago
Community pub where alot of work groups get together. Really nice kind staff very thoughtful. Keep people safe which is. Admirable in this trade.
A classic old school good value Kiwi pub. We stopped here for a quick pint before returning to Auckland. The plan being to avoid commuter traffic. An excellent plan all around.
