Story

It wanted to create a better product that would enhance the athletic performance of every player who would wear the Kooga brand.

Originating from the UK, Kooga has grown to become a major international brand with distribution in New Zealand, Australia, Fiji, Tonga, Japan, UK, France, Canada, USA and Italy.

Kooga is now the sports wear supplier of choice for thousands of clubs, associations, national and international teams worldwide. Its reputation has been built on its “Made for Rugby” platform but in New Zealand, Kooga stands for more than just rugby.

Our innovative high tech fabrics, design and manufacturing capabilities has led to a growing presence in all New Zealand sports codes and in particular Football, Rugby League, Netball, Cricket, Touch, Basketball, Tennis.

Over the years the Kooga design and development team have worked closely with fabric suppliers to develop revolutionary materials which have improved the performance, durability and “feel” of team wear. Ultra modern fabrics such as Evaporex, Liquid Pro, Hydro-Steel, Hydro Tech, Cool-Max and traditional cotton knit are used extensively throughout our range.

The lightweight poly-thermal fabrics are designed to wick away perspiration, creating the ideal body climate.
We work closely with our teams and sporting organisations to design and manufacture the right gear for the right sport to satisfy the needs of the modern player and supporter. Technical training and match day equipment and apparel right through to quality supporter casual wear.

Any sport, any gear! Whilst Kooga has grown strongly within Rugby Union, league and AFL on the back of its “Made for Rugby” platform, we are increasingly moving into other popular New Zealand sports. We can design any gear for any sport.
