South Island's only Maori performance and hangi cooked dinner
Welcome to Ko Tāne, a journey through time of an ancient people. Ko Tāne is an interactive Māori cultural experience that gives you, the visitor, a look into our country’s history from the past to the present day in a fun and informative experience.
Your experience at Ko Tāne will include your official welcome to Aotearoa New Zealand, this is a traditional Māori powhiri or welcome.
Your experience then turns into a meet and greet through our fully interactive village where you will be shown the tools and skills of the Māori hunter
After your interactive village walk through you will then be entertained with a 45 minute kapahaka performance this is a performance includes action songs, poi dances, (long and short poi) haka, stick games, weapons displays.
The final part of your visit with us will be your dinner which is a four-course dinner in our licensed restaurant. Dinner will begin with a selections of breads and dips.
A selection of soups which include kūmara or a sea food chowder.
Mains will be hāngī which will include chicken, lamb, pork, kumara, potatoes, carrots, stuffing and a mixture of salads, gravies and sauces.
Desserts will be pavlova with ice cream and kiwi fruit.
