The store is nice and spacious but not nearly enough staff to assist customers. When you look for staff then you find them congregating and chatting. Generally also noticed on multiple occasions that stock is not replenished on the shelves and in these areas the store just generally looks untidy.
A lot bigger of a store than the one in Paraparaumu which is fine and the prices for things were good too. I do wish that there were a wider variety of brands however, especially in the home furniture and appliances section, because it often feels jarring to see just a constant sea of anko products.
Great hours here. The t-shirts can be surprisingly good & the exercise equipment is probably the cheapest around.
Thank you so much to the lovely manager who helped me today! I bought a phone stand for the car and thought it was incompatible but he patiently helped me and showed me how to alter the device to my needs! Much appreciated!!! Great service !
First time ever I went in and came out empty handed..only because there were a lot of people out shopping and the ques to the checkouts were super long and I was short on time. Generally it's the best place for the household goodies when you're on a budget. Low on price and not on quality....love Kmart.
Kmart OLDER STAFF deserves no star. Very RUDE and quite disgusting customer service. I previously purchased toys for my nephew and had found out he already owns a fire truck. I decided to return the toys and exchange it for a few different toys. Since I’m visiting from Australia I thought all Kmarts are the same. In Australia we have a “service desk” which overlooks return items for whatever reason and you can get a refund or exchange for a different item. The sweet young staff at the entrance pointed me to where the “click n collect” is as i had asked for the service desk area to exchange these toys. I had the receipt for proof. I first made my way to the toys section, picked a few toys then headed towards “click n collect”. Another young staff at click n collect then directed me to the counter where the exchange process is done. I then experienced the most unexpected and ugly customer service. Got to the counter and advise the older staff of my request to exchange these toys as my nephew already owns the toys I’ve purchased. The older staff looked as if she couldn’t be bothered, asking me who told me to attend the counter and kept asking if the toys are still good obviously EVERYTHING even the box itself is still in perfect condition while the second older staff was checking me out like i was stealing. The older staff at the counter informed the young staff at the front entrance to come to the counter and asked the young staff if she saw me walk in with the toys while i was right there. Now at this moment i couldn’t believe how rude this lady was but also the other older staff checking me out and looking inside the trolley. At the same time i had my grandmother with me, because of her i held in my anger. Discrimination at its finest! I did not think i would come back home only to experience this on Christmas Eve
Review based entirely on bike parking. Kmart Petone has a small bike rack to the far right of the front entrance. Unfortunately it is a “wheel-bender” style rack, which is not secure, and can’t fit many wheels. Luckily there are some shopping trolley corrals near the front entrance which make convenient bike parks.
Bit of a nightmare on a busy weekend. Furniture section among others was a mess with very few prices easily visible. Many tags did not match items and the price check machine was broken. Stock levels indicated on the Kmart website are inaccurate. The greeter was also somewhat rude. I had the absolute opposite experience at the Porirua Kmart which I went to after my less than satisfactory experience here, and my recommendation would be to go there instead.
Need to empty your trollies aye, nearly blocking the car park. It's over a nissan march long
Staff are great and helpful, only negative thing is the customers are sh*tty self entitled c*nts, feel bad for the workers and the treatment they get. They all deserve a pay raise. I've seen people just blatantly steal, they never seem to notice that they get recorded in camera every time, saw an old man swear at a young worker there, like damn, the guy was upset because he wasn't being served but then when she tried to help him he didn't even want help? Staff need to have the ability to kick rude customers out. 10/10 stars would shop again.
