We stayed for the night in one of the motel rooms and really enjoyed it. The rooms were big, well furnished and well looked after. Sandy was extremely welcoming and our highlight was getting up in the morning and feeding the lambs, emu and other animalsRooms: 5/5
Do Not Stay Here - I Booked in February for an April stay, advised them travelling with two dogs and asked was that okay. Received a quote/invoice so obviously the answer was yes. Checked in and Paid then when I went back to the office 15 minutes later was told there was an additional charge for the dogs. The man was so rude and aggressive and would not check if what I had paid already covered the dogs. I left in tears and luckily found a lovely welcoming place to stay. Have emailed asking for a refund for the 2nd night which I had paid for did not expect a refund for the 1st night and have had no response at all - even though they responded to this review within minutes. The grounds are lovely. What I saw of the ablutions block was a bit dirty/mouldy but would have been okay. Could not get the TV in the common area to work and same man said it was what it was - amongst other shouted comments. I cannot recommend this place due to the truly distressing treatment I received. I love Murchison, have longstanding connections with Matiri Valley and to be treated with such rudeness and agression, and to have additional fees added after booking and check in was very surprising. I own accommodation properties and would never speak to anyone like that, would never add on extra fees after a booking price was agreed and paid, and I always refund people even with last minute cancellations as I understand that stuff happens.
Had the most lovely experience here! The owners are so kind & such caring people with a glow about them. Brought my 2 year old daughter here she got to feed the animals each day & was very involved in hanging out with them as much as she could. All the animals are so happy well looked after. The rooms are great I was surprised at how comfortable the beds were as I had a perfect sleep each night. Your going to get 100% great customer service here & be supporting a business of a family who is truly doing their best to bring you a wholesome experience staying here
An absolutley fantastic place - so beautiful, the owners are very friendly the owners have changed and it was great for the children to Feed the animals. Wish we could have stayed longer, 100% recommendation!Rooms: 5/5
We camped here and the camping sites are gorgeous. You are tucked between rows of established trees, with the sheep, horses, and emu on the other side of the fence. The kids loved it, and we arrived on a quiet night and virtually had the place.to ourselves. Richard and Sandy are the new owners, while we didn't get to meet Richard, Sandy is an absolute gem. They've only been there for 6 months after taking it over, and really care about you having a great stay. The facilities are clean and tidy. We'll be back in the future to see what Sandy and Richard do with the place. Noteworthy details: Sandy mentioned they feed the animals in the morning and kids who are staying at the park could feed them too, so ask about that if you are staying.
We stayed in a family room. Was perfect for our family of 4. Had everything we needed. Could have done with a good dust/clean but had a good rural outlook and close to town and a good price. Noteworthy details: Kids loved the chickens, emu, pigs and cats.
Fantastic value for money. Rooms were clean and perfectly functional. The toilet/shower rooms were large and spotless. The kitchen area was well equipped with cutlery and crockery, however my only criticism would be the state of the kettle and various other kitchen equipment. They could do with a serious upgrade. But other than that, we would definitely stay again. Plus, we made a friend who goes by the name "Claws"!
I've stayed at Kiwi Park many times over the past 2 years, it is always my campground of choice when in Murchison. I can't comment on the Rooms, as I always stay in the campground, which is AWESOME..Beautifully maintained lawns, & hard sites,lots of mature trees, immaculate amenities, super friendly hosts in Sandy & Richard AND Summer... Claus the cat is AWESOME...Harley & Tank doggies are friendly dudes too. Horses, pigs, calves, lambs, chooks, Matilda the emu, & Rosie the doe, are a great attraction for children...fresh eggs for sale..I will always make a point of staying here on future trips...
So this is my 2nd review of this place, had to take first one down so I could change it to a 1 star from 3 I commented and left a 3 star review stating how average and basic the accommodation was relative to the $110 nightly fee it is a 3mx3m plain room that has had no work done since the 1980s. The owners Yes both came barging into my room without my permission not even 2 min after I reviewed. They came to my room threatening me to f" off if I dont like it etc... All I did was leave a 3 star review and some honest comments. Calling me horrible names also. I know you owners will see this review. So to the owners, learn how to take criticism, your place sucks alot, either fix that, or live with it. Some advice to any travelers wanting to come here. DONT. The owners are insane, abused me and used vulgar language while intruding my room. Like I said in my first review. Use that money for gas, and have some fun in Nelson. Only good thing was the emu : Noteworthy details: Owners are both insane. Do not respect guests' privacy. Used threatening language towords me.
