Beautiful waterfall, well maintained paths. Quite a few stairs, but at a slow pace it's manageable even for those who have low fitness. Parking is free and plenty big enough for our camper.
Great place to visit. Very enjoyable track. Some really interesting pieces of bush. Well maintained paths. Enjoyable setting at the top of the falls and again at the bottom of the waterfall.
Breathtaking views and absolutely lovely walking trail, beautiful, clean, and well maintained with a bit of history information. Our kids are 4, 8, and 15, and this was easy enough for all of them. We all had a blast. There are places where you can have a quick bite as well.Visited onWeekendWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNo
This place has nice walking paths that lead up to the waterfall. I went to the top of the falls, it wasn't worth the effort of ALL the stairs, sooooo many. I would definitely suggest going to the Falls, not the "top of the falls" for the best view.
We arrived at 11am and it was so busy on easter Friday. So worth the trip though. Higly recommend the walk. We were impressed by how well the track was maintained , especially the boardwalks on the way to the falls. The falls itself was a sight to see too, spectacular. I'd recommend to take lunch and a nice drink as you'll want to savour every moment. Easy enough to do with kids too.
So beautiful, worth the trip up to the top of the falls 100%! Cold little pools, the pool closest to the edge is the coldest but so so worth the swim, had a fun little swim with the friendly eel at the top! Definitely worth getting to, such a breath of fresh airVisited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNo
The trail is very well marked and maintained with different options to approach the bottom of the waterfalls clockwise or counterclockwise, and an offshoot to climb the "stairs" to the very top of the falls. Absolutely beautiful and conveniently close to Auckland for a day hike.Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo wait
A lovely waterfall with the option to swim if you like. Be prepared, bring your best walking shoes as the grade can be steep, and a towel for your feet or quick dry shoes if you want to get close to the base of the waterfall. Note that the signposts estimate the walk to be 25min one way but we found with the grade it takes about twice as long going uphill, about 45min total. Picnic area and toilets before the turnstile entry to the park.
Nice family friendly walk. Left of the track has a stream crossing that can be a little to manage with young kids. Right side is much safer.. families with very young babies it is highly recommended to carry them on body as a wrap. much less risky that way. Water is not deep so safe for kids.
An authentic and well maintained place. Pretty busy in a sunny day post lockdown. A part of the walk was closed. The waterfall is splendid and the water temperature close to a good 15°c. Well worth a visit. Half day in Kitekite falls discovering all the area with a chill stop for a snack and plenty of water along the river is the best plan!
