We stayed in a eco room. Amazing views right from the bed and great use of technology to allow a real treat of a weekend. Portia looked after us and gave us lots of her time to explain everything we needed. From the spa pool to the dinner and breakfast to top off a great way to unwind! We would love to come back! Thanks team. Rooms: Modern, warm and sound proofed Food & drinks: Excellent
Stunning views, excellent food with nice and helpful staff. Unfortunately, the stay was ruined to no fault of the establishment itself by the persistent viciousness of the nearby sandflies. If you plan on staying, bring good insect repellent but if you forget, they do sell a range of products in their shop.Rooms: 4/5
FIVE STAR PARTY DESTINATION - BETTER THAN CASTLE ST DUNEDIN!!!!! This is a great place if you have have a ute, beer and loudspeakers and want to get really drunk. Bring your own kegs and spirits as the bottle shop is an hours drive away. This review is here to let other guests know that if you want a ‘wilderness’ experience you should look elsewhere - the marketing does not reflect the reality.
Lovely way to unwind for two nights after we finished the routeburn. Lovely staff - amazing food if you feel like dining in the restaurant! We also cooked for ourselves one night in the well appointed kitchen. The hot tub was a huge bonus and you simply cannot beat the views!!Rooms: 5/5
Could not more highly recommend, extremely well positioned in every way - From the values of restoring nature, to the positive vibe the staff/owners exude - this perfectly located retreat style accommodation offers an experience that caters to every budget. All while leaving the you with the feeling you have been a part of something that is making the world a better place. Also for the vege lovers, the plant based options on the menu are world class, the vegan cheese cake was mind blowing
Stayed one night with dinner experience, and we wish we can stay longer. Place is humble but bright, nice and clean. Dinner food the venison was really enjoyable.
Worth the trip out to middle earth and a place to stay after a walk. Walk up the road a little to find a bay to swim. Weka room has a stunning view.
Excellent rooms and very clean . Location wise the nearest place to get anything to eat is 26km away , so make sure you have backup . You can cook in wonderful kitchen. I came without anything thinking I will order from restaurant and the restaurant was closed for that day . Since I didn't want to drive 10 km in the gravel road , I skipped dinner . The hot tub is amazing
Spectacular, cozy spot for a hidden getaway. We arrived tired and hungry after doing the Greenstone and Caples hike and despite the fact the chef was off/we normally wouldn't be able to dine, the owners kindly still put together a delicious platter for us with the highest quality produce. We were blown away by the gorgeous setting and hospitality- it truly was magical. The heritage rooms were sparkling clean and full of character, and and added bonus was the hot tub included for no extra cost with views out over the lake and mountains - you pay a lot for essentially the same experience at Onsen pools in Queenstown! Can't wait to come back for a family wedding in February - highly recommend to all.
Best accommodation i have ever booked in my life as a traveller! The 10k rock road does suck though but still absolutely breathtaking for a backpacker like meRooms: 5/5
