Typical rural pub with excellent hamburgers. Allows camping out back for Caravans and Motorhomes for small fee. Bring levellers as it is paddock.Service: 4/5
My new favourite local pub. No frills, just a classic small town bar with good conversation, hot food, and cold handles. What more could you want?
We stayed out the back of the pub in their field, it was pretty rough and uneven with a few decent sized holes to fall down in or drive in too, the owners were given warning a few days in advance that about 20 of us were coming and they still managed to run out of chicken patties & nuggets, fish pieces and meat patties, thankfully the chips were great and the zero percent offerings were good, but I wont be going back anytime soon.
I have not stayed in hotel and only had take away. The food was fresh, super testy and much cheaper then in Wellington. Very friendly and helpful stuff. Highly recommended! You will also find a very nice local park just across the road to eat your yummy take away.
Sadly even one star is to much. First impression was absolutely rubbish. I will never go back!! As we walked in you could see into a back room that the staff and owners use. It was a complete bomb site. There was an ashtray sitting on the arm of a chair with burn marks so a very clear indication that they smoke inside. Once we entered the cafe the colour red was so over bearing it wasn't funny. The ower is trying for a frence theme however as completely missed the mark on that one. When sitting at our table we were unable to see out the window as they had made curtains out of thick table clothes so they would match. They want to go for an open feeling sadly have done the opposite. The food was WAY to much and half of it was thrown away. My meal was not surprisingly flavorless. Can clearly taste that chef mike did all the hard work, chef microwave... the owner also kept harassing us as we ate. 4 times in the space of 30mins, this just made us even more uncomfortable so we left. Worst part, we sat there questioning there hygiene before preparing our food.
Dirty glasses, dirty premises, no sauvignon blanc and then ran out of pinot gris and reisling! Won't be back anytime soon, so sad after having fabulous day at the Kimbolton Sculpture Festival
Great country pub...good food clean restrooms and enjoyed the publican friendly comfy place..we will be back cheers
Wonderful experience. Very helpful and good company. Made our stay in Kimbolton very pleasant
