Born and raised in Hastings, I spent time travelling through Asia and had an interest in alternative Medicine, which in turn lead me to Acupuncture. My family and I moved to Wellington so I could study at the New Zealand School of Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine. This was a 4 year degree level course. Towards the end of my final year of study I travelled to China for a two month clinical placement at the Guangzhou University of Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital. This was a great opportunity to hone my clinical skills and see how Acupuncture has been integrated into China’s public health system.
I first practised in both Taupo and Rotorua. After four years my family and I decided to move back to Hastings to raise our two children in the sunny Hawke’s Bay.
