Partnering with Parents and Whanau - One of the core values of Kids Time is family. In our Centres, you will see strong, respectful relationships which create a solid foundation for learning and development. Our aim is to walk alongside our families and whanau and build meaningful relationships with them and their children. We seek to support our children and their families in an open, caring, and nurturing way.
We value and respect parent and whanau knowledge and input on their child and culture, and look forward to hearing about your goals and aspirations for your children/tamariki. We work with parents and whanau to create a programme that suits the individual needs of their children. We consider it a real privilege to have the opportunity to partner with you and invest into the lives of your precious tamariki.
Quality Teachers - At Kids Time, we seek to employ the best quality teachers and then support them with regular and on-going professional development. Our skilled and dedicated teachers seek to help your children reach their full potential and develop into confident, capable, and enthusiastic learners.
Our Environment - Our environment is set up in a purposeful way to give children an exciting range of learning opportunities as they explore and play. Different activities are set up on a daily basis giving your child something new to discover each day.
Curriculum/Programme - Our emergent curriculum is based on the children's interests. Teachers recognise children's interests and work alongside the children helping them to explore these interests. Children are both challenged and supported to extend their current skills and knowledge and to develop attitudes which will help them be successful learners for life.
Our high teacher to child ratios enable us to provide a quality programme which is appropriate for each age group and stage of development. Both group needs and individual needs and learning styles are recognised and met. Learning activities and goals are relevant to each child's development allowing them to progress at their own rate.
We incorporate many different learning activities into our programme including dramatic play, music, arts and crafts, nature and science, geography, games and puzzles, messy play, blocks, play-dough, literacy and numeracy, sports and physical activities, sand and water play, carpentry, technology, and special events and excursions.
Our programme is guided by Te Whaariki (the New Zealand Early Childhood Curriculum) and Te Tiriti o Waitangi, and is evaluated on a regular basis.
Routines - We incorporate both free play and set routines (such as group activities and mat times) into the days structure.
Transition to School Programme - We offer a transition to school programme for children who are almost ready for school.
Portfolios - Each child has a portfolio which celebrates their learning and development. This will include photos and stories documenting your child's learning, and samples of their work. We encourage parents and whanau to contribute to their children's portfolios also. This is precious record of your child's early childhood journey which is yours to keep when your child leaves.
Meals - Both Centres offer morning tea, afternoon tea, and lunch at no extra cost for children attending during those meal times. Children may bring a piece of fruit to share if they wish. Parents/caregivers need to provide their own bottles and milk/formula for infants.
Nappies - At Kids Time Early Learning Cetnre, we provide all nappies at no extra cost. Children attending Kids Time Kindergarten need to be toilet trained.
Free Pick Up and Drop Off Service - We offer a free pick up and drop off service in our Centre van for those children who would otherwise be unable to attend early childhood education. Seat allocation is subject to availability and will be reviewed every three months.
Fees - Fees $5.20 per hour. Max daily fee $42.50. Max weekly fee $195. 20 Free ECE Hours and WINZ subsidies available to eligible children.
20 FREE HOURS - All 3 and 4 year old children in New Zealand are eligible to have up to 6 hours per day and 20 hours per week of fully funded childcare.
