Kidsbarn childcare centre is a new centre for children aged 6 months to 6 years. Located at 129 Fairfield Road - Hawera.

Story

Our philosophy is based around our natural environment with a focus on providing positive experiences with nature and the outdoors. We believe regular play and contact with the outdoors helps develop a sense of wonder which is an important motivator for lifelong learning.

Kidsbarn will be developed around natural resources, trees, grass, lots of space and a “back to basics” approach. We aim to develop vegetable gardens and an orchard from which our children will be encouraged to grow and harvest produce. This produce will then be incorporated into a healthy eating plan through fueled for life and the heart foundation that will provide our children with nutritious meals.

Children will be encouraged to use the natural cycles that occur in our outdoors to provide real-life learning and helping them to develop empathy for our natural environment.

As well as a focus on the outdoors we aim to develop a preschool programme. We believe that this is a very important stage and we hope to provide resources and education that will make this transition a happy and exciting time for children and their families.


Most of all we want our children to have fun in a safe and caring environment.
