Our family of 4 took a tour of Ohiwa Harbour with Kenny. Highly recommend. We are relative novices and our kids 8 & 6 had never been out on Kayaks before. We felt safe, and had fun exploring and having a laugh in between. Kenny communicated well with the kids and they will be talking about their little trip for a long time. He encouraged what they were interested in and was hugely knowledgeable about the area. The best way to explore the harbour. We hope to be back :
We had a very nice time with Kenny during our guided tour in Ohiwa Harbour. Kenny is very knowledgeable and a humerous and kind person. Would definitely recommend KG Kayaks. Hoping to be back for a second attempt at Whale Island.
I've done freedom hire on two different occasions this summer, the first time was so good we went back! Kenny offers great advice on route planning, tides and channels in the Ohiwa harbour to make your paddle more enjoyable. Enjoy the freedom hire option where you can go at your own pace, it's a nice way to experience kayaking without the commitment of owning one. Everything you need equipment wise is provided, including dry bags for gear and phones. Highly recommend Kenny and KG kayaks.
We had a great trip exploring the Ohiwa harbour with Kenny on this Kayak tour. Very knowledgeable on the local area. Would definitely like to do one of the other tours available at a later stage too.
Kenny is a great operator, very fast and clear communicator. The tour was heaps of fun, the area is very scenic and full of wildlife, rare birds and such. We all thoroughly enjoyed our time, thanks Kenny and Mereana, it’s very cool getting a real local experience
We loved our two hours of freedom kayaking. Kenny was great and sent us off in our two double kayaks with great information of where to go. Absolutely beautiful exploring the surrounds. Kenny is a top guy. Highly recommend.
Awesome place to rent a Kayak, if you're ever in the Bay of Plenty this is a must-do! You can freedom-hire and go by yourself or go on a tour with Kenny he's awesome and you won't regret it. :
We turned up at the harbour without having made a booking. Kenny made us feel really welcome and had us out on the water quickly after a safety briefing. We had such a great time freedom kayaking and enjoyed every minute out on the water. We can't recommend KG Kayaks enough!
These guys are just the best. Had so much fun! Small group tour with a beach landing on whale island. Very informative and friendly, could not recommend more!
What a great way to start the day! We freedom kayaked in the ohiwa harbour, out to Ohakana Island and back. We had 2 experienced in the group and 2 not so experienced. Kenny and the team were super friendly and made us all feel comfortable going out on the water by ourselves. The water was calm and the views were awesome. 100% recommend and we will be back.
