Story

I believe children should feel free to express themselves in play and feel confident and comfortable while in my care. Childhood is a very special time of life, as an educator I will value and treasure every aspect of it.
My family moved to New Zealand in 2008 from the UK, we absolutely love the lifestyle, the people and the weather. I am a mum of four, my two youngest were born here, they are 3 and 5 years, the eldest are 10 and 16.
I started home-based childcare in the UK in 2005, there I completed many courses that where available associated with child-care such as child protection and behaviour management, this enabled me to develop my understanding and skills in the childcare field. Since I started with PORSE I completed my NZQA National Certificate in Early Childhood Education & Care (level 3).
I like to give the children in my care the opportunity to explore and have adventures. I promote walking and being outside, you will always find us at the park or on the walkway, I attend playgroups and the library, I also attend all the community events and PORSE outings. I want the children to see what their community has to offer, everything is so eaily accessible. I also provide a playroom for the children to enjoy and have fun in.
I absolutely love working with children, I enjoy watching them grow and develop and this shows in the service I provide. I give them freedom to develop and express themselves. I observe children and recognise their strengths and interests and I provide a warm, friendly, safe environment. I have spaces available now.
