Story

Our family name has had great presence in Papatoetoe for over 70 years starting off with my grandparents who brought up my dad and his siblings in Papatoetoe and over the years set up and ran a garage and mechanics business locally.
The kids went to school in the area and over the years grew their own families and brought them up locally too.
As time has gone on everyone has moved away but my dad continued to work in the area he knew best and ran a very successful real estate company on Great South Road in Papatoetoe whilst also selling...he can easily navigate his way around every street and even now can still point out properties he has sold during his career!
Growing up I was around real estate jargon from very early on and with many extended family members ending up in the real estate industry too, it was inevitable I would follow suit..it's in my blood!

I went to university and completed a Bachelor of Architectural Studies and a Bachelor of Architecture but decided it wasn't the right section of the housing industry for me.

Now I have a total of 8 years experience in the real estate industry, 6 of which were spent in property management with a portfolio of up to 180 apartments, so being busy is no foreign concept!
In 2013 I was ranked top 5 REINZ licensed property managers in NZ which was a huge personal achievement for me.
I needed a new challenge so decided to move into the sales side of the business and partnered up with my dad Ian Hodgson who has been very successful in the industry as an agent and business and has continued to build up the family name in Papatoetoe and the wider South Auckland area over the last 20-30 years.
It wasn't long ago when I was in my Granddad's local RSA in Papatoetoe and I was given a funny look and asked what my name was...''Any relation to the Hodgson's who grew up in the area and went to Papatoetoe High...?" Yes, those very ones and I am I'm ready to continue to build on the family name and reputation that has been established over the years and look forward to re establishing a Hodgson presence in the Papatoetoe area.
