We have booked into this site several times over the years. At this last visit notable area's looking as it needs improvement. The stairs and rail need improvement on the 2 bedroom unit, carpet need clean or updating. Still we appreciated our stay, thank you.
The non-powered sights are right on the water - very beautiful and serene. The staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming. Common areas are nice as well. Big kitchen with 4 stations, plenty of indoor and outdoor eating space, and a game area open 24/7.
We had to call someone to the unattended reception office when we arrived, but there was a number posted on the door for this, and he came out very quickly. He was very friendly and hopeful, and showed us to our ensuite cabin. It was either brand new, or very recently refurbished, it was in such good condition, and very clean. The bathroom and kitchenette were spotless, and everything you could need is right there for you, right down to shovels if you want to visit the hot spring beach at low tide. If ever I'm in Kawhia again, I would love to stay here again.
Just wonderful Booked a campsite for 3 nights but on arrival the weather turned hideous. They were super kind and let us change our booking despite having other guests. They were so helpful to accommodate us and let us be a pain, moving all around the place The facilities are very clean and well looked after. Rooms are great and it was lovely having a dry place to sleep on a nice bed. Spa pool is great rain or shine! We left before we could thank you guys properly, so thank you so much for making what could have been a bit of a miserable situation so lovely and memorable. Can't recommend this place enough, for sure we will be back!
Stayed here about a month ago. I can't fault the place and the owner went above and beyond what he needed to make us feel welcome. Conrad offered to smoke some fish we caught and was still enthusiastic about the process at 10pm! Stayed in beachfront unit and they are right on the waterfront. Clean and have everything you need. If ever back in Kawhia will definitely stay here again.
Great place right by the water. Clean facilities. Showers are hot and great pressure. Free spa, kayaks and paddleboard. The host Conrad is fantastic and makes certain you have a great stay. We definitely recommend a visit to Kawhia Beachside Camp Nearby activities: Hot water beach 3mins down the road and Raglan is an hour away. Walkability: Beautiful walking along the beach at low tide Noteworthy details: Great fishing spot
We stayed here for one night in our Campervan and we absolutely loved our stay. The facilities were very clean and tidy and it has a fantastic kitchen / lounge area. There was even a spa! The bathrooms were great too and the showers had amazing water pressure. Incredible views and location over the water. The staff were lovely and made our stay. Thank you, we will definitely be back. Highly recommend to all campers, tenters or anyone wishing to stay in the motel rooms. You won’t be disappointed. Great little town too with awesome fish & chips and a playground for the kids. Thanks again!
Does what it says on the tin. Waterfront accommodation at affordable prices. Simple accommodation, very well kept and extremely clean. Staff are super friendly and helpful. Definitely would stay again.
Just spent a fantastic 3 nights/4 days at Scape Kawhia. Conrad owner is a top man, super accommodating, and did everything he could to make our stay as comfortable and enjoyable as possible. Heartily recommended and we'll definitely be back again. James, Zip and Alfie Tauranga
A very good holiday park with warm hosts and such a peaceful cove. We enjoyed sunset Kayaking there. It is also near the not popular hot water beach which is really a hidden traturetreasure.
