Fascinating walk in the rain forest... with the gigantic Kauri trees that are several hundred years old. Wear shoes with rubber soles, you will walk on a boardwalk that will likely be wet. Bring rain gear if getting wet bothers you.
CAUTION: CAR THIEFS!nnThe forest and walk are great but please note that our car was bashed and broken into today even after just leaving it for maybe 15 mins.nnDO NOT LEAVE ANY VALUABLES IN SIGHT! IT WAS A YOUNG MAORI COUPLE DRIVING A WHITE CAR. COMPLETELY RUINED OUR TRIP - DON'T LET THESE A-HOLES RUIN YOURS!
Beautiful small native forest. It's a blessing to go for a walk with your family and friends . Definitely recommended for a visit and enjoy some history of New Zealand forests.
The Kauri Walk in the Puketi Forest is an excellent track to see very large Kauri trees. It is very educational. The trail is well maintained. There's a campground nearby as well. I recommend it.
