A very easy walking track. Beautiful native trees, including Kauri. My favourite.
If you want to go for simple scenic walk this would be a great place to go for a nice nature walk ether by yourself or with family and friends to see all these old trees and the true nature of new Zealand.
Good place to start a hike to Te Rereatukahia hut. There are a few really impressive kauri trees not far down the track. Google maps shows another track here called "Rereatukahia hut track", but this track has been closed, so you have to come back from the hut the same way.
Sentinel rock Lookout is nice isolated rock, then climb up to the next rock
Good for family
Great walk, from Katikati side it's 2hrs up to the north-south intersection and around the corner from that are views over Waikato and Killarney Lakes.
Fabulous Kauris & lots of noisy water.
Recommended bush walk during a hot summer.
Absolutely breathtaking. A must do for any outdoor adventurist
