Cancelling a membership is near impossible. Despite having written and verbal confirmation of cancellation and authority to process the cancellation payment from my bank account they won't close down the membership, insisting I have to attend the gym to pay via CC no thank you and against fair consumer guidelines or call them and give my CC over the phone to a company who has no security or controls in place for managing that information. I may as well just publish it here. They need to get their Member Services team on the same page as the rest of their organisation which is world class.
Excellent gym. Great selection of classes, attentive staff. Free parking for an hour and a half. Difficult to fault this place!
Huge gym with lots of equipment to do different things - functional studio, cycle, boxing, strength training, cardio, classes- just to name a few. There was also a gym/space especially for women. Changing rooms were huge and there were plenty of toilets, showers, sinks and lockers.
This is a world class fitness centre and the home of the very first personal training programmes. Their exercise classes are now sold into fitness clubs all over the world. This building is the home of the very first Les Mills gym so is full of history. It’s also a large gym with separate men’s and women’s gyms.
Good gym but man the lack of general maintenance is annoying. Ths sauna was essentially out of action for a month and the steam room completely decommissioned.
beautiful gym, excellent professionals, a great experience to be part of lesmills, every training day is a great day. highly recommended.
Biggest of all the AKL Les Mills gyms. Parking easy, lots of equipment and classes. Staff are great - helpful without being over the top.
Good classes but I’m sick of Les Mills continuing to charge me after I’ve cancelled my membership. If they want to be a reputable company they need to honour their cancellation policy and fixed end dates. The first time I was with Les Mills I cancelled as per the notice period due to moving overseas only to realise they had continued to charge me for months afterwards. Recently, I visited NZ and asked for a fixed/short term membership whilst I was there and they assured me it was fine and I didn’t need to provide notice to cancel as my contract has a fixed end date. I later discovered I had been charged over $100 more than what was agreed for the contract period and I had been charged for another month after the end date. They refunded the money both times and were apologetic but this was only after I had to go through my bank statements and raise complaints so they could rectify the problem. Seems like pretty sneaky behaviour to me…
Why can't the people that run this chain understand that no one care that you can use the changing rooms for 30 mins after the gym floor closes. LIST THE ACTUAL GYM FLOOR HOURS. Secondly why do I pay so much money for cleaners and staff to get in the way close to closing time.
Overall, it is a good gym, but they always give the customers a "we want you to leave now" vibe, even before the gym floor closes. During summer time, the staff usually comp up to the woman's section and close most of the windows 15 mins prior to closing time, and it got absolutely hot I just had to leave early. Today, one of the cleaning crew started vacuuming the floor from 6.20pm - again prior to the floor closing time. You should know some people only have a fixed time for gym and that could be around the closing time but still want to make the best out of it instead of being pushed out of the place earlier than it's supposed to be. Treat your customers better when you want to claim yourself the "fancy" gym of NZ.
