Would not recommend. This is clearly a law firm or car dealership masquerading as a doctors clinic. It's a business with the focus of profit. Money farming charging 50 bucks per visit just to leave thinking was I just ignored and whisked away. Now mysterious charges added to your account only becoming aware of it when final notice was text. These guys are sketchy with their admin. Got told my consultation was covered under ACC by GP but charged full rate. I paid it stupidly being to proud to argue over 20-30 bucks. Receipt from last visit months ago shows account paid in full. The funny thing is. I have been seeing another doctor since because if they can't even get that right I'd hate to think how they manage the rest of the place.
when you ring for an appointemnt or a prescription it takes for ever to answer the phone, when you go onto the website it says not busy. I have spoken to them about this but nothing seems to happen
I went to Hastings Health Center around 5:30 pm today for my sick kid. Absolutely great nurses and doctors but the Security Guard was untrained and rude. I did not expect him to say “hello” or “how are you doing” neither to call myself, my wife and our child like we are bunch of things. When we went in, he just shouted “yaw” and pointed at the direction where the nurses were. When I questioned his behaviour, he did not even bothered to answer just kept pointing at a direction in a rude manner. Very disappointed. I personally make sure what happened today will circulate around so people know what to expect there.
Took 6yr old in with temp and sore ear. Triaged outside and thankfully fast tracked because she was in pain and was given Pamol. Thank you! Then left to sit for between 1- 2hrs in in white gazebo, outside in 28° weather waiting to see the Dr. Finally called to a hot, stuffy portable cabin where we were barely there for 5mins. Temperature taken, ears looked at and told by Dr that she doesn't have an infection, then told that we could leave. Didn't offer Pamol or any pain relief - I had to ask for some. Within the hour I had a text basically saying "Thanks for coming, you owe us $50 for the consult, here's our bank details". I called regarding the fee for a child. Told by a very apologetic receptionist that unless we come to the centre outside of the child's regular Dr's hours, it's $50 We were not told about this charge until after consult. Huge, undercover ambulance bay not being utilized, but ok to leave us in a gazebo for nearly 2hrs in 28° weather. Doctor came across as sterile and not caring. Some staff were amazing, shame that this does not carry through to the doctors or management. Terrible experience. Would never recommend this center.
11am this morning I had called the Hastings Health Center to make enquiries as to what I needed to do to get covid tested and was given instructions that a triage nurse would see me at reception and that they were open until 8pm, because I was feeling poorly and didn't have the energy levels to get myself ready. Upon arrival I was told that covid testing was closed and would need to go to Napier. The lady sitting at the desk at the entrance was so rude I was almost drawn to tears because I had a fever and was so weak but thankfully a lovely nurse came to my aid and was able to assist me. After giving my details to put into the system I was told to wait for a Doctor. After waiting for almost an hour in my car I had to leave because I wasnt well and needed to lie down. I am a registered patient at the Doctors Hastings and have a great appreciation for the staff there now. I will never be going back to the Hastings Health Center again. Absolutely appalling.
Disgraceful level of communication within the Hastings Health Centre. When my partner and I went to the Hastings health Centre we had scans sent to the health centre prior to us arriving, when we Initially spoke with the nurse on duty she explicitly told us that she had seen the scans and Briefly talked about the issues with them, but once we got to see the doctor approximately 30 minutes later, the doctor first reacted by stating that all symptoms were normal and healthy, but after explaining the issues with the scans we found that the doctor had not even been sent any scans and could not find any evidence of the scans on her computer or even at the front desk… I asked how a formal complaint about the situation could be written, and they handed me a piece of cardboard and pen. We have subsequently gone straight to the emergency department in Hastings Hospital.
Was perhaps the best medical center I have been to. Receptionists were caring and polite and the three doctors were magnificent. X-ray so very professional. The one doctor Justine was the best. And yes I've recovered from my injury 100% A HUGE THANK YOU from a Welshman in New Zealand.
I went for my COVID test to travel back home , on my way in to receptionist to enquire about COVID testing... The security greeted me with a great smile . Great service, very fast to get my test. What a great day it is.
Helpful staff, Very professional and caring doctors. Onsite blood test was quick and the people who did it were very nice and respectful. Can recommend
