Utterly non-responsive Council, on key issues relating to the entire community. I requested information, including scoping and project options, and geotech/engineering reports, relating to Otaki gorge road. For Council meeting in May, where they are going to vote on whether to close our precious Otaki Forks park, PERMANENTLY. So far I've heard absolutely nothing. Stone walls at Shields Flat apparently also exist in Council.
Would appreciate less traffic lights in the region. Never ending congestion, takes 10 minutes to get 1 kilometre down the road at any given time of the day. We don’t need more bike lanes, we don’t need year-round roadworks and useless projects that waste taxpayers money and contribute nothing to the region. If it were up to me there would be no local council and you’s would all be without a job, seeing as none of you can do your job. I’d trust the central government to do a better job, which says a lot about my faith in you people.
The service is rude and unapologetic in regards to this. It is as if they do not want to work there and forget that the council serves their regional people. For the amount i pay in council taxes i would expect a lot better service and better kept public facilities. It appears they would rather do their own vanity projects to self serve themselves and reward themselves with pay rises at the same time instead of serving the regional public. It is at no surprise that this region is out of touch with the general public.
Don't enforce their own regulations. Let that sink in. THEIR rules. After almost a year and nothing done, we complained on parents' behalf and Council staff doubled down, covering for inefficiency AND decided not to enforce their own regs. Perhaps our parents should move to Waikanae where dog poop is apparently high priority.
Appauling Service. Given the amount of money spent gaining Code of Compliance, the process is flawed. When the inspection was done, the inspector did not check off everything first to tell us what we needed instead it took 3 visits resulting in 3 times the fees. In addition to this we had emailed documentation yet it wasnt recorded resulting in the email being sent through 3 times over. This was a very frustrating experience & could be improved.
