Cosy and welcoming country hotel just minutes from Hokitika Township. On the main road servicing the farming valleys of Kokatahi & Kowhitirangi and the settlements of Kaniere, Arthurstown,Woodstock & Rimu ,and the scenic Lake Kaniere. Come and enjoy great banter, fishing/hunting/camping stories and historical knowledge everyday between 4pm and 8pm with the eclectic band of local supporters.Clean & tidy Budget accommodation.Restaurant and bar menus available Tuesday to Sunday. Sunday Roasts! Functions a specialty.Good music including Thursday Jam/Open Mic nights,Good company,Good liquor,ales and wines.

What a wonderful place to stay near Hokitika. We were so comfortable! Cannot recommended this place more. Family owned and run; and you could tell, everything was so clean and cared for. Immaculate bathrooms. Comfortable beds. Everything was easy! We loved the historic 120 year old building too.
Lovely affordable hotel, very accomodating and friendly owners. We arrived with bicycles and were able to store them in a shed overnight. Great fish and chips too! Would definitely recommend.

I loved it! The place is spotlessly clean. The hosts put me at ease immediately. The shower pressure is great . It's got a cosy little lounge and kitchen for guests. The Wilderness Cycle Trail is 5 meters away on the other side of the road. More cyclists should use it.
Went for dinner last night. Very refreshing to have a pub menu with healthy options. I had the smoked chicken and bacon salad. Excellent value plus fresh and tasty. My husband needs gluten free food so he had Thai chicken. Again well presented and tasty. Good atmosphere and lovely staff
What a great genuine coast experience. Yes the place doesn't look like a 5 star hotel but the service, cleanliness and most important internet was perfect. Grant was the perfect publican. These are the type places to support in these difficult Covid times. BTW Lake Kaniere and the Wilderness Trail are amazing.
Fantastic!! good ol pub, great staff, very clean.
We were very disappointed with the takeaway Irish hotpot we bought on saint patrick's day night. All the meat was fatty along with a slot of bones. Uncooked potatoes and over priced for the serving size. Paying $1 for the icecream container was a bit cheeky as well
Stayed here last 2 nights, came for wildfoods, the burgers are to die for, just had the most amazing roast pork, all the staff are so lovely, cheap drinks, anyone wanting a place to stay good food great company and amazing staff come stay here we will be back
