What a lovely place to camp! Great showers, clean kitchen and covered outdoor area. Dog friendly worth good walking access to a Riverside walk or a bit further to a choice of beautiful beaches. Great surf while we visited after a southeastly. Very friendly owners, and the ice creams at the nearby store were almost too big for just $4.50! We'll be back for sure!
Camp site is perfect. Close to river and estuary, Oamaru and village with good facilities and sheltered sites powered or non-powered. Cabins are great sleep three and face the Sun with a deck. Rates are very good and owners are friendly and helpful. Heaps of things to do for all ages.Rooms: 5/5
Nice place to stay. Friendly people and clean Toilet/kitchen. Very easygoing. Surfboard to rent for a good price in Kakanui not at the camping ground and than just relax at the beautiful beach. Little store is also in kakanui.Rooms: 5/5

We had a powered site so we did not have access to rooms but they looked very cute and had everything you would need. Bathrooms were cleaned frequently and had lots of soap hand towels and toilet paper available. The kitchen-lounge area was also well frequented however some people need a lesson in washing your own dishes. They DO NOT magically get washed. Lawns and sites were well maintained. Very handy location and could fall asleep listening to the sea.
This is such a fabulous wee gem of a camping ground. Hosts are super helpful and friendly. Love their doggy Burt, he's so cruisy and didn't worry about our overexcited foxy. The camp sites are really generous and the grounds are beautiful. A really idyllic setting especially loved hearing all the bird life and waves at night. Can't wait to go back
I booked some friends in here quite some time back and although it is very reasonably priced, and looks cosy, they did say they were very cold in the beds , needed an extra blanket, and unfortunately the bathroom and kitchen facilities were filthy and looks as though they were not cleaned very often at all.Rooms: 2/5
We had our two families staying at the camping ground at the start of January. What a fabulous place, plenty of places to walk, fish, bodyboard and swim. Safe beach and river with plenty of space. Ryan and Freyja were so relaxed and accommodating to our large group. The facilities were good, and it was cool to see the upgrades they had planned for the future. A great wee spot that we would thoroughly recommend to other families. Thanks for a great break. Mark and Jo Maddren
