Great spot with good signage. Felt like most of the trails were XC related with lots of long flats or ups. Other than rock face and karmakaze area. That was the good stuff. Probably the only trails I would come back for.
I recently visited the Kaiteriteri mountain bike track for a trail run, and it was a fantastic experience! Despite being primarily designed for mountain biking, the undulating trails are perfect for beginner to intermediate trail runners looking for a dynamic and scenic route.
Kaiteiteri mountain bike park Is small but perfectly formed. There’s a few ways up Te Piki Ki Te Ra is my favourite, and a bunch of options down to please all levels of experience.nnIt can be a bit warm in summer, so get out early or after dinner. You can shuttle to nearly the top via the back road to Marahau, or if you’re riding up from Marahau or Split Apple Rock, there’s a forestry road from the summit of the Kaiteriteri-Marahau road that will take you up to the summit via an easy 40 minute ride.
So many trails. Big climbs and challenging descents with the most fabulous scenery!
I was running instead of biking but I had an incredible time. Didn’t meet many bikers in the afternoon. Well marked and maintained.
