Kaipupu Wildlife Sanctuary is a mainland island located an easy 10 minute boat ride from Picton. Managed by volunteers, it is open to the public and home to many of New Zealand's unique forest birds. A 2.7km track with great views.

Kaipupu Wildlife Sanctuary is a community project managed by Kaipupu Point Mainland Island Society on land which is co-owned by DOC and Port Marlborough. For more information, please visit our website.

Top spot to visit. Easy walk, lots of good information on the track about flora and fauna.
So near and yet so far. Take a Beachcomber taxi trip and then walk the island. Stunning natural bush and walks.
Beautiful place and great moment, you need to take a taxiboat around 40$ per person
Beautiful wildlife sanctuary predator free. Blue penguin has to boxes, several endemic birds, great views reachable by boat only. Worth a trip. Hiking trail is quite a climb to the top and goes about 2.5 km.

This place is under rated love it,you need a boat or you can be dropped off.well worth it.you can kayak over to it.
