The place is beautiful. The old trees tell us so much about the domain's history. It's a perfect place to walk dogs, especially on hot days.nIn Autumn, you have the most stunning change in foliage color, the place becomes a painting.
Lovely place to go for a walk or a picnic, it has a playground for the kids, good parking and some toilets
Hadn't been here before, only driven past. Decided to take the dog for a walk through. Signposts and information boards, mounted on real whale ribs, recovered from Kairaki a hundred years ago, give information on the local area. Beautiful, very old trees, and a couple of trees with ripe plums, paved and unpaved paths through. There are entrances from each of the streets on the town side. There is a softball diamond, toilets, picnic tables, and seating among the trees. A beautiful, relaxing place, with well maintained lawns. The fencing is only basic post and wire rope, so watch your kids. The old mill is across the road, which leads through past the cemetery to the Kaiapoi Lakes. It's a serene spot and worth going just to read thehistoric signs and vege out away from those playstations and T.V.s. Recommend a visit.
There are a few things there for children to play on and the toilet is clean and tidy.nThere is shade from the trees for the family to shelter under on sunny day's.
