This place is fantastic. The little pods are cozy and provide privacy. The atmosphere is calm and it’s easy to catch up on some rest here after a long flight. I actually had booked another stay with a different hostel in town and was disappointed with them and came here instead and felt right at home level cozy. Couldn’t recommend more.
Arrived at midnight and staff were present and helped us check-in very quickly. Stayed in a female only dorm and facilities and sheets were clean. You can hear noises from others throughout the night but no different to any other dorm you’d stay at. Definitely value for money!Rooms: 5/5
Very cool Hostel, nice kitchen, nice bathroom facilities. The music in the public lounge was sometimes too loud for my taste. The ventilator in the pod can be quite noise and I really hated how much E-Mails I have become probably over 25 for 4 nights 2x extended stay. But all in all very nice experience
Not a bad experience, if you don't mind sharing it with very loud students. The rooms were freeeeeeeeezing, and only minimal bedding. The light on all night unless you switch it off for everyone. The pod is good enough though with charging points and light. My fan didn't work and the clock defective. Bathrooms clean, but everything costs extra, towel, soap!!!, parking, everything. So can easily add up unless you're prepared, else a cheap motel room may be more cost effective. Good cooking facilities, just bring your own media to watch tv etc. That said, location is good, close to numerous shops, fast food, restaurants and a super market.
Very close to airport. Private room was nice size with double bed and en-suite. Recommend if you just need a place to crash before a flight but if you actually want to see Christchurch, better to stay in the city.Rooms: 4/5
What an amazing place to stay ! Very helpful and friendly staff, cost of room and parking was an absolute bargain for this area! Car parking is top notch. Room was very clean and tidy and awesome to have a wee tv to catch up on the weather before we left. Would highly recommend staying here !!Rooms: 5/5
Very good place to spend a night after a long flight if you don't want to get to City . Can walk from airport . Large kitchen and common areas. Close to a shopping center if you like to go shopping. Also you can hop on a bus right infront and get to Christchurch cityRooms: 5/5
Cons: Toilets & shower. It was a sad state of affairs. Everytime you shower the water doesn't drain out properly that you had to sweep/mop it out your self which is not pleasant and frankly disgusting pic of mops in showers provided. Toilet bowls are not cleaned properly see pics Out of 8 cubicles for toilets and showers, half were "out of order". When I inquiried about it, the person at the front desk said it was due to COVID. What a joke when 8 people are in the same room breathing the same air. But based on the above situation, my guess is that it is to control the flooding issue in the showers. When I inquired few people who had stayed over a week at this place, they mentioned the situation was the same since they arrived so clearly nothing is done to fix it. Cheaper hostels have better toilets and attention to issues. Pros: proximity to the airport. Clean rooms and lounge area which is pleasant. If the pod experience is new, it adds to the novelty.
Convenient location for early flights, cheap, all the amenities for travelling light, close to restaurants and groceries. Slept here on 3 different occasions, none of which did I sleep well, but for reasons mentioned earlier, I would stay here again.
I wondered what this would be like, so gave it a go. It's very close to the airport and SH1. Check in was a bit of a challenge, but we were a bit early and the room was not ready. I had a few requests for help and the team was there and keen. Our twin room had an en suite and was very clean and the kitchen social area was hug and well equipt. I would call this a flash packers. Food & drinks: There was a good choice of eating out option close by, just a short walk.
