Just went for a one night camp trip to check it out, what an awesome little camp. Free to stay, hot showers and flushable toilets. Some people complain about the toilets but they were hygienic and clean. Floors just need a sweep now and again. U need to take ur own water as the water used for showers and toilet sink is lake water. They have a rubish and recycling bins too. A cute little jetty and a boat ramp. U will need a permit if u want to stay for 2 days or more. Lived this place and def going back.
I had high hopes arriving at this small reserve, great views, toilets, shower, and even a playground for the kids. Problem was at least 5 maybe more pitbulls running around unchecked certainly didn't feel safe for my pup Freddie. I just left, went to little Waipa a few kms away.
Jones landing river trail to arapuni swing bridge amazing trail fantastic views the whole trail of the river some steep paths but great wide pathways the walk took about 2 hours with lots of different seating offered thru out the walk
Alright campground with a fair amount of space.nBeautiful rock cliff views.nUnfortunately they appear to be spending money hiring equipment rather than bringing the current installations up to standard.nWas 2 toilets serving at least 15 families, which means for about 50 people. Most of the interior space is wasted on dressing areas with no showers installed, just portable units.nShould install at least twice as many toilets and showers. Good opportunity for solar water heated showers.
Could be lovely. But not much room for tents. Strong Westerly wind. Poorly serviced toilets. Noisy with speed boats and music from Bulmer Landing. And then noise at night from cars doing burnouts in Bulmer Landing opposite for over an hour at 1am. A couple of vehicles moved to Jones Landing driveway. And people shouting at 2am.
