What can I say about Jones Home Hardware? From the first phone call to the payment of our bill, the team are great. Cheerful, helpful and with nothing too much for them. Alistair will offer you a great deal, a great service and always a smiling face. I have been a happy customer for well over ten years, this may not sound that long, and it isn't, but I travel over three hours to get the Hay on Wye, purely to deal with Alistair and the team. It's old fashioned service, something that many could learn from today. You can buy many things on the internet, you can't buy the service you get from JHH there though. Use them or lose them, we've lost too many great local businesses already. Thanks everyone.
THE BEST Hardware Shop in the world - fact. We have purchased some of our most important tools and machines for our farm/woodland from here, have them fixed and serviced here plus we buy day-to-day items and treat ourselves occasionally to cookware and buy gifts. The team are brilliant and have all worked there for many many years so are really efficient and knowledgable. Their adaptations to covid restrictions have worked effectively and kept staff and customers alike as safe as possible - we know this must have been challenging in such a multi-faceted business. As I know the owners personally, I am more conscious than normal of giving an honest appraisal... I love this shop. Although it may appear small from the roadside, don't be deceived becausestretches back a long way and it's something of an Alladin's cave. This hardware store sells just about any home & garden item you can think of but if your item is not in stock, the friendly staff are happy to order it for you. I've bought a lot of garden machinery here. Not only do I receive useful hints and advice, efficient and thorough on-site servicing is also available. I strongly recommend Jones Home Hardware.
Brilliant thank you! Going round in circles trying to find a brush cutter that was up to the job. The guy who helped us knew his products, set the thing up exactly as we wanted AND we got it for a good price. Interesting store with lots of other stuff too, will definitely be back!
Wonderful selection of everything you could possibly need, and much more you didn't know you needed. Hard to find your way around the packed and cramped space but the delightful staff can find almost everything you want. Long may Hay have such shops, useful, needed, friendly and sociable. A boon to the community.
My lopper had broken into two, the very honest helpful lady kindly spent time and effort to find the correct nuts and bolts and pieces to mend it. It never broke again. Every question I ask in the store is met with kind friendly supportive help. I highly recommend this store to everyone.
A good old fashion hard wear store with everything you could ever need for DIY. Very friendly staff with a great deal of knowledge.
Anything to do with house or garden they will stock it at Jones Home Hardware and can order in quite quickly. They provide servicing for all your garden machinery. All the staff are always very helpful. There are double yellow lines outside but they will come out and help get your mower etc out of your car or put it back in when you collect it.
Brilliant, an Aladdins Den. I dare you to find something Jones's doesn't have. The staff are amazing, they know exactly where everything is in this floor to ceiling emporium. I needed a new gasket set for my 9 cup coffee maker, yeah I could have gone online but there is no fun in that at all. Real people working and talking to you, taking pride in their stock and knowledge. I live in Coventry, we used to have a fabulous hardware store called Phillip's where is was possible to buy a single nail but sadly its closed so I'm more than happy to save all my needs and travel to my sisters in the Breckon Beacon area to have a real enjoyable shopping experience with Jones Home Hardware.
This lovely shop has never failed to meet my needs. It is a treasure trove of household necessities with friendly and helpful staff.
