Story

Introducing Jones and Cole Electrical. Dave and Garry have been in business together for the last 15 years. Dave was raised in Kawerau and qualified as an Electrician with Advanced Trade Certificates after serving his apprenticeship at Tasman Pulp and Paper. Garry did his apprenticeship in the Waikato working on rural and large commercial work. He started at Tasman in 1980. They joined forces after working in their own separate businesses. We also employ 2 other tradesmen and two apprentices.
Our business is based in Kawerau. We believe in the town and know it will become a prime business hub. We undertake work of all kinds from the Lakes to the eastern Bay. We have rewired a number of houses in Kawerau and surrounding district, the rubber sheathed cable many homes were wired with in the fifties, now perishing and becoming hazardous. We supply electrical services to several large sites based around the pulp and paper industry. We have undertaken several KDC projects, namely the Tarawera Sports Club refurbishment, Lighting project at the Information centre, And the Kayaking facility at Firmin Field.
We believe in putting back into the community, supporting the town with sponsorships of sports people, scouts, ATC and Tarawera High School.
Dave and Garry both strongly believe in training young people for the future. Apart from the two apprentices we have , we also provide work experience for trainees and students through the Gateway scheme run by Tarawera High School and the Pretrade course run by Waiariki Polytechnic.
