For the freshest fish in town! We are a family business on the Esplanade in Petone offering a wide range of seafood, deli specialities and delicious fish and chips. We fillet all our fish and also offer healthy homemade delicacies from the Mediterranean.

Pop in for fish and chips cooked in heart healthy oil. You can choose your fillets, steaks and flounder from the fresh fish counter and we will cook them for you.

Salads are available daily: Greek Coleslaw, Rawfish, Seafood Salad and homemade sauces: Tzatziki and Tartare. We use traditional family recipes for many of our fish and chips options, our meat patties are truly unique!

At the Fresh Fish Counter there's plenty of New Zealand's sea bounty to choose from depending on the day's catch: Tarakihi, Gurnard, Groper, John Dory, Blue Cod, Trevally, Flounder, Salmon, Moki, Warehou...and many more. Have a chat to us about your plans for dinner!

We also stock a wide range of seafood from around the Pacific - Australian Banana Prawns and Tiger Prawns are popular for the BBQ. Scallops, Live Mussels, Surimi, Squid Rings, Baby Octopus, Kippers...perfect for healthy meals, parties, picnics, family get-togethers or a quick and easy lunch!

All of New Zealand's seasonal seafood is on offer throughout the year: West Coast Whitebait, Scallops, Kina, Pacific Oysters, Bluff Oysters, Crabs, and Octopus.

This is a shared space with a seafood market John’s Fish Market and a to-go counter for meals Sandy’s Fish and Chips. The service was excellent. Staff was polite and helpful. The prices are great for fresh seafood. The food was great. Definitely coming back every time I’m on island.
Jumbo lobster is good and with great price. People who work here are nice. Noted that the hot food section Sandy's Fish and Chips is not open on Sundays.
Great selection of fish, and their crab cakes are delicious! We got the grilled tuna sandwich and it was had a generous amount of fish. This was the best fish sandwich I've had in a long time, especially for only 11.50!
Now, I’m biased because New England seafood is ok at best when you compare it to the different fish down south, lobster aside. However, this is a place I would take my mother to eat. I’ve eaten all those seafood stores in the different towns in MV but they are overpriced, over cooked, and underwhelming. This little seafood haven is worth the trip. Ridiculously good prices, a huge selection of fresh fish AND prepared dishes, and the overall package can compete with the best restaurants down south. 15/10 I recommend.
Terrific fish and chips. The lobster salad roll was good but not the best on the island.
The onion straws were beyond amazing - I’d go back just for those! The flounder sandwich was a great value and the coleslaw was perfectly balanced and moist!
John's fish market was highlighted on Andrew Zimmerman's delicious destinations. This was our first stop off the ferry to Martha vineyard. We met the owner Glenn and got a little bit of history about the place. My husband came here for the whole belly clams and cohogs. I had the salmon wrap with lemon dill sauce and crab cakes. Delicious
Excellent fried seafood, perfectly seasoned! I would say this is my favorite place on the island for takeout fried seafood. There is a small area outside to eat, if you can't wait to get home! Portions are great!
I ordered a lobster salad roll and it was pretty good. The portion seemed right for the price and I liked the fact that the cooked the bun on the flat top with butter.
Ok- make your vacation and get fried fish here. Fantastic, fresh- great crispy crust, some oil but not in a bad way- generous portions - prices are fair. Make sure you tip- staff works hard!
