A warm welcoming from the front staff. Nice location not so busy and not so isolated.nnSpeckle park steak - tender, dry, ground beef like texture, low beefy taste, the fat has no addicted savory. Personally too cooked if ordered medium, recommend medium rare if you want to try.nnLake Ohau wagyu -Beefy, moist, chewy, a little low on standard wagyu for mable 6 score compared to others I have tried.nnAs a no.65 on the list of world best steak 101 I probably looking to try another restaurant in Auckland.
A good place to enjoy Kiwi-style steaks in a classy atmosphere.nCrowded, so reservations are essential. Enjoy the huge T-bone steaks with a large group.nMy favarite is beef tartar.nThere are many kinds of wine, and those who like it will surely be satisfied.
Thoroughly enjoyed our early dinner, reservation made for 5:30 PM. Service led the evening with every staff being attentive, informative, and friendly; this included the Chef! Our first dining experience in New Zealand, the waiter encouraged questions, which worked out as we were curious of New Zealand authentic foods and wine.nSpeaking of wine, I was unfamiliar with some of the white wine NZ wineries, a quick solution presented by our waiter, a tasting!! Fabulous. As for the star of the evening, the Wagyu Scotch fillet was perfectly seared and just the right size as we did not want to overeat. The gnocchi dish was insanely delicious, a smart combination of zucchini, snap peas and other accoutrements. The actual gnocchi were clouds with a light crispy outside… omgoodness, a must try if you are gnocchi obsessed like me no dessert as we had other itinerary to get too.nOf note, there were no screens on the open windows with some flies buzzing at our inside table next to the chef’s area, no one seemed to be concerned, though it was off putting to us…
Brought our guests here last night and it was a fantastic place for dinner. Service was excellent. The food really good and the atmosphere nothing short of great. Will definitely come back. Our guests from abroad loved it too. Thanks guys.
Had a wonderful steak dinner on Sunday night.nnThe service is very attentive and friendly while the scotch steak was nicely marbled and perfectly cooked to medium rare for my liking. The burrata salad was delicious as well.nnHighly recommend this for meat lovers.
