**Updated** Although the repairs took very long my car seems to be in good order now. Car was collected today in working order. I did notice my dashcam was unplugged though. Not a huge deal as the car is in the same condition as when it was left there. Thank you to Bongi & Dane who were the last people to assist me with the car.Service: Transmission
I received my car on 23 December 2022. The car is working but what I cannot get over is the fact that I brought my car with half tank of petrol but when I received my car the petrol tank was empty and the odometer shows that the car has traveled +300km. If this is your policy I think you should disclose this information to your customers on where the car was driven to. Please treat us with respect we are you customers.Service: Transmission
DO NOT GO THERE!!!!!! I took my car to Mayfair Gearbox Auto in Selby Johannesburg in October 2021. After waiting for more than a month the car came back and it was OK'ish for about 8 months. The car broke down with the same Mechatronic issue that was initially "Fixed" I took the car back to Mayfair Gearbox Auto again and its been there for 7 weeks and going on the 8th week now. They claim to have replaced the Mechatronic twice already and the Clutch 2 times already and still they cannot get it right. If its not the Clutch its the Mechatronic, If its not the Mechatronic its the Key not programmed, then back to we changed the Mechatronic again and the last communication was we ordered a new clutch for you. What makes it worse, I am the one who has to call in every other day to get an update. I am sick and tired of the excuses I get every week. Soon it will be 2months with my car at Mayfair Gearbox Auto in Johannesburg Selby. I just want my car fixed as I have already paid for this service. If they cannot fix the car, they must just send the car to people who know what they are doing. I would not recommend this place to my worst enemy!Service: Transmission
A special thanks to Tyron, Bongi and Rozanta from "Mayfair Gearbox - Automatic Gearbox Repair Centre Johannesburg" for the swift, excelent service. My car was sorted out in no time with no issues. I got free Curtasy car, weekly updates and my car was deliver back to me free of charge in centurions More then 120km round trip, very impressed. I dont see how any one can give them a bad rating.
I'm actually not sure about the quality because the person I took is not pleased as they are ridiculously expensive you would think being so expensive the job you do would prevent you from coming back . I don't think service centres realise how costly it is to come up with lump sums they are charging because it's your car and it was made apart you have no option but to except the repair charge just because you don't want to go up and down looking for cheaper repair centres. So in my opinion please don't overcharge people because you don't know their situation you might say it's got nothing to do with you , it's your business because you will have a customer for life if you treat them well . Thank you be considerate.
Had my gearbox replaced by them in November 2020, and seemed like a good job at the time. Six months later one gearbox mounting came out which caused another one to break. Because I have never heard of gearbox mountings that come undone and break without having had work done on it and looking at the scuff marks around the mountings I can only assume that the gearbox was not attached properly. I conveniently covered more kilos than specified on their invoice so they decided that they were not at fault or responsible. Lesson to learn here is that I suppose you need to check your gearbox mountings with every car service as they have a tendency to spontaneously come undone.
Good day. I went to Mayfair Gearbox to have some work done on my car, the staff was so friendly, helpful and professional. Answered all my questions with no problems. I would recommend anyone that has problems with their car to give this place a visit. You will not regret it....
Awful service - it took almost a week for the first quote which was exorbitant. Then we endured another two weeks of back and forth with Grant continuously promising to get back to us and having to be chased up. When he finally came back with something reasonable, we were about to give the go-ahead when he suddenly added on a ridiculous amount for labour. To put the cherry on top, when I picked up the box, they "forgot" the most valuable bits and I had to make another trip to pick them up
Disgusted by the service received from Mayfair in Johannesburg! After repairing my gearbox and after numerous calls without any response, I had to take the car back twice because the issue was not fixed and it was not programmed correctly. They offered me a rental car, but this car is unsafe to drive with. Notifications such as "check airbag" constantly appears. There are open wires where the radio is and not even to mention how filthy the car is and the smell is just awful! Unacceptable to offer a car in such a state to a customer. This has honestly been the worst experience I have ever had. Do not make use of their services!
My experience with Mayfair Gearbox repairs, was one of the best that i have ever received. The staff is efficient, friendly and helpfull in all aspects. Thank you guys for making a difficult day more pleasant.... i will be recommending you to evryone i know...
