On the outside this looks like a typical mid-price, mid-quality restaurant.n4 of us went for dinner and found the food was delicious, generous portions, good quality ingredients, full of flavour. Staff were friendly and efficient.nAccess is easy straight off the street. Table spacing is good.nHappy to recommend this place.
Delicious latte, hubby and I shared the big breakfast wasn't huge but definitely enough for me to steal half without getting in too much trouble, son had pancakes which came with fresh summer berries February at the moment cream and maple syrup which he really enjoyed. Not sure if it was Jasmine who served us but she was lovely.
I was not expecting to find Thai food in this town, let alone excellent Thai food. This place serves the real deal, though you may have to ask for some extra chili as I don't think the locals are used to it. Fabulous and friendly service in a comfortable atmosphere
There's not many choices for a meal after 3p on a Monday, unless you want to consider McD's or one of the 2 markets in town. I stopped into Jasmines to check out the menu or decide if I wanted to wait until the other place reopened for dinner. After looking at the menu, I knew I needed to look no further! Jasmines has 8 pages of menu choices and that doesn't include lunch specials. I appreciated the pictures and explanations as I am not that familiar with Thai food. But that's not the only cuisine on the menu, although mostly it does have an Asian slant. I narrowed down my choices to 3 and picked one with Crispy Pork and stir-fry noodles and veggies. GREAT CHOICE! There was so much food on the plate I needed a ToGo Box.nWonderful people working there and the food came out hot and fast!nIf I ever get back to Taumarunui, I won't look any further than Jasmines for lunch/dinner.
Good selection of dishes, ours were tasty. The large screen looping a video of meat chunks being minced and made into hamburgers was an odd backdrop. Rice $5 extra for a small portion.
