Paid a number of visits to this restaurant, and it paid off every time. Tried bentos, ramen, donburis and sushi. Highly recommend!Food: 5/5
Pretty good Japanese place in whanganui. For a Tuesday, it was reasonably busy at lunch time. Bento boxes a little pricey at $30 but good portion sizes, overall we left satisfied. Nice building, spacious seating.Food: 4/5
Tried the egg katsu bowl, the flavour was ok but it did not look like it was a freshly prepared dish. The pork was dry and the rice was barely warm in the centre. Service was friendly.Food: 3/5
The food was excellent. Filling bowls with well cooked, succulent meat and delicious sauces. Very quick service and meal, and nice selection of beers. Corona would have been a nice addition to the menu but hey, we can't have everything can we. Did I mention great prices? All in all will go again for sure.Food: 5/5
Little bit disappointed in our time at Momiji last night. Previously when we have been here, it has been great. The service and quality has slowly decreased each since. We ordered a mix platter, an entrée, 3 dinners and 2 miso. We only ended up getting 1 dinner, entrée which was cold and the platter. We waited for a hour and decided to get up and leave. When I asked the lady that served us why we didnt receive our dinners, she said we didn't order anything else and sarcastically apologized. We won't be returning.
if you want to have the dinner there, should be more than 5 persons together, otherwise maybe you couldn't get the table service. I arrive my table and read the Manu more than 20 minutes, no any waitress arrive my table to order until I take the Manu to the check desk to order, and they said my table maybe was forgot. God! my table is not at any corners. all the waitress were servicing the group guests such as 8 persons and 16 persons. recommend to check if any issue of management. But frankly speaking, the food taste is good. the Raman bowl recommend to replace the brand new one.after have the Raman, the bowl tell me it a old actor.

Great food, had a selection of different food and all was very nice. Unfortunately the hundreds of cobwebs on all of the walls make the place look like it isn’t cared for with pride. The glasses we were given we very dirty. These issues could be fixed with an extra half hour for two-three. Entrees were stuffed up but fixed very quickly.
Delicious food with great taste, quick service and great Japanese drinks available as well as the usual. Would have given 5 stars but outdoor garden didn't look like it had been cared for since a year ago and the girl who greeted us was obviously having a bad day - all other staff were awesome and good prices.
We had a fabulous meal and experience at Momiji restaurant tonight. Really like Zen dining. The food is beautifully prepared and cooked, we will be returning to sample more of Momijis menu. What a treat thankyou Food: 5/5
