10/10 Highly Recommend. Set an actual old historical prison that has been modernized and turned into a backpackers is definitely a unique place to stay. Excellent facilities and Great security accompany you here along with plenty of helpful and friendly staff.
I didn’t like Christchurch, I found this city quite boring, but well I was there only for three days. Anyway the Hostel concept is really interesting. It was built in the old Christchurch prison. Staff is really friendly and private rooms are ok to have a good rest.
I think the jail idea is fantastic, and they did a good job with it, however I was not super impressed overall with my stay. The bunk beds and pillow were uncomfortable. The toilet room and shower were tiny and uncomfortable. Likely would not stay again, but would be perfect for the weary traveller.
Cheap price for accommodation close to the town center and with parking included but the carpark is a bit too small. Other than that it is a cool place !
Really well done. Lots of Jail references, e.g. your room is your cell.
Nice place to stay. Beds were a bit small for taller people. Not much coverage in bedrooms due to walls. Can be quite loud at night
