Island Bay, as shown in the image, is a peaceful and scenic coastal area in New Zealand. The clear, calm waters gently lap against the sandy beach, creating a serene atmosphere ideal for relaxation or beach activities. Small boats anchored offshore add to the picturesque maritime charm, while the distant buildings and rugged hills give the bay a cozy, sheltered feel. The bright blue sky and warm sunlight further enhance the beauty of this coastal setting.nnOverall, Island Bay offers a tranquil and inviting environment, making it a great destination for both locals and visitors seeking a relaxing day by the sea, with stunning views of both the water and the surrounding landscape.
The Hermit of Island Bay was a well-known personality, and somewhat of a tourist attraction, at the end of the 19th century in Wellington, New Zealand.nIsland Bay is a coastal suburb of Wellington, the capital of New Zealand, situated 5 km 3.1 mi south of the city centre.
One half of the beachfrom the pier is available for dogs so can take pooches and kids down for a picnic. Very clean, didn't walk into any puppy poop so walkers are awesome! No sign of bins close by but that's okay. Kids park across the road and toilets on the other side near cafes and fish n chip shop. Great when it's a northerly wind, as it's sheltered. Thank you Island Bay. Although I only stayed about two weeks here I still miss Island Bay.nThe lovely ocean and dog friendly beach brought such a joy to me. I just wanted to meet all the friendly kind 4 legged ones and I must say the people in Wellington are super kind, super loving and made me feel at home.nThe beach is great and you can walk or take the lovely clean bus as the bus stops at the beach and in the great Island Bay shops.nThe shops were very kind and I will have to write reviews for them and that would take a long time.nThe staff are great, the staff if the trains airports and bus services professionals.nWhat a lovely country. Miss you, see you soon.nI miss the gentle colours and smooth ocean of Island Bay.nWhat a joy!
