Lovely people, a beautiful dojo in stunning setting, overlooking a wooded valley. The instructors were all very good and we were made to feel really welcome. 5 stars
This dojo is a super friendly, fun environment to learn. Very welcoming to complete beginners. Great place to learn self confidence, get fit and meet great people.
This place is a rare find. Authentic, respectful, but at the same time fun environment. Dunken is an amazing person who immediately sees your strength and works to bring the best out of you. I can only recommend!
Both myself and my kids have trained here whilst we lived in Auckland. Sensei Francis has over 40 years experience and conveys information in a relaxed and thoughtful way that is rare to find. He is fantastic with the kids and encourages them using humour and patience. The dojo itself is beautiful and makes for a great experience.
I have trained with Francis sensei since 2009 and would rank his teaching up with anyone I have trained in Japan. Hugely knowledgeable and a very authentic and genuine man.
An open minded and friendly place to train with great facilities. Their cross training events are sublime and attract excellent instructors from across multiple martial arts disciplines, all fostered by its head instructor and all round decent guy Dunken.
Best place to learn aikido in the whole of the north island, took my sister here to build her confidence because of school bullying and its changed her life for the better. 10/10 recommend, good for every age and such a good environment :
My son trains here with Duncan and he’s an amazing teacher - giving my son a lot of confidence for a smaller kid that now knows how to defend himself. Thanks Duncan we have many years ahead!!
My club members and I regularly regularly travel to train with Dunken and his club. We have nothing but respect for him and what he does. A great Aikidoist and very welcoming.
